U.S. News & World Report has named a pair of BMW vehicles, the X1 and X4, to its list of Most Reliable New Luxury SUVs. To compile the list, U.S. News relied on the J.D. Power predicted reliability scores, along with list prices and the consensus opinion of automotive critics.

Here’s what U.S. News said about each model:

2018 BMW X1
Reliability Score: 4/5 | U.S. News Overall Score: 8.7/10 | $33,900

"Despite its subcompact size, the BMW X1 has plenty of space for cargo and passengers, who are treated to comfortable seating. The X1 delivers plenty of powertrain and handling refinement, making it an engaging vehicle to drive.

"The X1 has limited luxury and powertrain offerings. That simplicity could contribute to its solid predicted reliability score."

2018 BMW X4
Reliability Score: 4/5 | U.S. News Overall Score: 8.0/10 | $47,600

"The X4 is a relatively new member of the BMW family but lives up to the brand’s reputation for strong predicted reliability. The X4 might not have the rear cargo space or second-row headroom of its X3 sibling, but it makes up for it with agile handling and standard all-wheel drive.

"It also comes fitted with BMW’s iDrive infotainment system, which has easy-to-use controls, improving everyday usability."

Test drive a BMW X1 or X4 today at Isringhausen BMW in Downtown Springfield.
